Easter fun!

We had a fabulous Easter today. It was so nice to have a break from the storms to enjoy sunshine outside. We invited Grandpa Jay and Trace over for dinner and enjoyed spending time with them as well. They were in charge of hiding the eggs for the easter egg hunt that we had after dinner.
Here are the kids in their Easter clothing

Bensen wasn't to happy with me that I insisted he wear my apron so that he didn't get dye all over his clothing. He has the BEST pouty faces ever! I really think number 1 pouty face award goes straight to him!

The boys had a great time dyeing the eggs. Bensen wanted to dye all the eggs green (his favorite color of course), and had a hard time giving up the green color to Asher. He finally caved in and gave the green to Asher and decided blue was an ok color for an Easter egg as well.

Hope you all had a great Easter as well! We are so excited for Spring Break, no school just play!

Happy Birthday Lily...well 10 month BD!

Here she is...growing up so fast. I guess that is what happens. You think you will never break out of the newborn stage and next thing you know, or I guess, I know Lily is now 10 months old. Yes I am quite gushy about my little girl, but she is an absolute joy and I adore every minute that I get to spend with her. She is amazing and I love that she is mine to hold and love and enjoy! Who knew having a girl would be such a joy! I love this picture because it is totally her right now. She is so interested in everything...intensely interested if that makes sense! And not much gets past her...she has this knack for whipping her head around as fast as it can go to see who is coming, or what that noise is behind her, and you better hope your head is not in its path!!
I love you Lils!

Our first Kool-aid stand...

So I was wondering if it would ever happen. Since Asher is a boy, I didn't know if the Kool-Aid stand would every be something he would wind up doing...but good thing he has a whole bunch of "girl" friends around here! Today they whipped up a Kool-Aid stand and yes even made a little money! That was of course after I told them they better sell it for 25 cents a cup instead of 5 dollars-
Oh and thanks to my mom and sister for a fun evening out last night. And of course thanks to Cory for watching the kids so I could enjoy some time off! It was much needed.

New Family Pictures!!!

Hey all-
I have been following this photographer's blog for awhile sometime...she lives on the coast of Oahu HI (how would that be!) and shoots amazing portraits etc. Well the end of Jan I checked her blog and how random, that she was announcing a mini photo shoot session in Salt Lake and anyone who was interested email her quick for a space. Since I love her work, I quickly got a spot and voila! Here is what happened in 20 short minutes. AMAZING!

Facebook...

So I finally signed up for Facebook, after the entourage of emails from friends etc. And I have to say it has been a pretty cool experience. I have connected with some friends from highschool, and pretty much my whole neighborhood is on Facebook as well so its been a lot of fun chatting with everyone. Sooooo, if you have a Facebook account let me know and if not consider the newest trend in networking...its kinda fun!

The Great Outdoors...

Cory and I went snowshoeing a couple of weeks ago. We went with some friends of ours and had such a great time! It has been quite awhile since we have gone, and it was so refreshing to be outdoors again! We also packed a sled, so after our ascents, we would hop on the sled and take a ride down. It was a blast, I can't believe I haven't ever packed a sled with me before!

Don't you love aspen tree's? We hiked up to this little, quite, grove of aspen's that was soo picturesque. The snow was untouched and it was just beautiful!

Black and Whites are the way to photo aspen's.

Last weekend, I went up to Ogden and did a three full day certification, to become a Personal Trainer. It was way intense but a lot of fun. While I was up there, I saw a guy on the side of the road, who had the coolest green mohawk that I have ever seen. Oh don't worry I totally took a picture with my friends camera, and she is emailing it over today. I will post it as soon as I get it!! Check back!

Oh and Happy Valentine's Day. Ya know, I have heard people complain about this day, saying things such as "why do I need special day to remember my spouse? I tell him/her I love her everyday, what is one more day?"

To those who think similarly my thought's are this;

To me it is a fabulous opportunity to spend precious time together. It is a day when it is perfectly acceptable and expected, to be unusually romantic and actually make a statement to your significant other. A statement of; I Love you forever without condition, and you are the one for me. No one else can fill your shoes, no one else fills me up the way you do, and on Valentine's Day we get to celebrate all of the hard work that we spend everyday to make this relationship work.

So I may embarrass my husband a little, but on a past Valentine's Day, I walked into our house and all over the walls I saw these little pink hearts stuck everywhere. As I looked closer on every heart he had personally written a reason that he loves me. Then on the floor there was a trail of roses leading up to my favorite dinner (gardenburger with yummy fries). What a guy!

So right now, stop and get creative and start thinking of something special you can do to suprise your lover! Even if you read this after Valentine's Day, get out of your box and do something special!
